Wood floors...DONE

Our wood floors went in last Friday!!   Wow!  We love how it looks.  It actually engineered wood which is a thin layer of wood on top of other layers of wood.  We were able to get the distressed, hand-scraped hickory wood that we wanted for a cheaper price.  And it doesn't expand with the changing seasons like solid wood.  You can even resand it up to 3 times, so we are very happy with our purchase.  I love the contrast with the cream cabinets.
Our mantle also went in on Friday.  We picked this our at Erb's Stoves.  I love how the black is rubbed off to show the brown stain that matches our trim.  Good job mantle men!  Though I wouldn't have minded a little more rubbed off, but it looks great.  Do you think it's ok to start a fire in October?  Maybe just once.  :)  They also put in our bathroom units and I love them.  Now all we need is a mirror and some lights and some water.  Oh, and the "John".  Our basement shower will eventually be a steam unit.  It's supposed to help with colds and with allergies, which Eugene has a lot of.  So he will really like that down the road.  The vinyl is all in now and the basement kitchen cabinets are in but not installed yet.  The drop ceiling has started to go in, the stage is pretty much built in the theater room and Eugene's High Def Projector came in today, the furnace was installed and so was the gas.  The outside is mostly done by now.  The siding is all on, the stone is done and the final grade was done.  So now it looks a lot cleaner outside and of course a lot nicer.  It looks like three short weeks and we are finally in.  We are so excited!

That's a great shot of the wood flooring, it looks beautiful.

It's good you're moving in a few weeks, cuz the stress is definitely showing in your faces.
